Position Available: Part Time Retail Assistant
 

Main Purpose of the Role:

Shandon Sweets is a small family run business based on John Redmond Street, in Cork City centre. We make all sorts of sweets onsite at our factory, for the past 97 years. Due to recent expansion and extension of opening hours we are actively recruiting a retail assistant to work in our shop and assist on the retail side of the business.

The ideal candidate will have;

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with shoppers – good English essential. We are a busy destination store during the summer months with tourists and locals alike.

• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team.

• A Hard Working attitude and able to be flexible in their work – no two days are the same in our factory.

 

You will be responsible for:

• Greeting and serving customers who come to shop in our premises

• Answering phone when required and responding to customer queries

• Recording sales on the cash till and SumUp for card transactions

• Ensuring the store is fully stocked and presentable at all times.

• Packing up our online orders, and ensuring correct products are packed into each order.

• Packing off sweets to varying specifications and weights.

Retail Experience is a plus.

Hours:

We are exploring and ever learning what our customers want from us, so initially the hours of this role will be a maximum of 20hrs per week and will include Saturday work.
